In Paikgachha upazila of Khulna, more than a hundred medical representatives formed a human chain on Sunday at 10:00 am in front of the Upazila Parishad. They demanded protection of professional dignity and a safe working environment.

The program was organized by the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Representatives Association (Faria) and the Paikgachha Pharmaceutical Managers Forum. Speakers said medical representatives play an important role in the health sector by providing accurate information about medicines to doctors.

They alleged that despite their role, they often face harassment and disrespect in hospitals and clinics. They called for official recognition of the profession as well as easier and smoother access to doctors during work.

The speakers warned that if their demands are not met soon, they will announce stricter programs in the future.

Representatives of various pharmaceutical companies, along with local leaders of Faria and the Managers Forum, attended the program. Led by Md. Abdur Razzak, participants carried banners and peacefully held the demonstration.
