Feni Battalion (4 BGB) has strengthened security along the 102-kilometre Bangladesh–India border under its responsibility due to increased concerns over illegal infiltration (push-ins), linked to the ongoing political situation in West Bengal, India.
The battalion has been placed on high alert. Patrols and surveillance have been intensified 24 hours a day at important border points. All Border Out Posts (BOPs) and patrol teams have received special instructions to maintain strict vigilance.
According to BGB officials, additional mobile and foot patrols, special operations, and continuous monitoring are underway to prevent illegal border crossings, smuggling, and other border-related crimes. Intelligence activities have also been strengthened to curb the smuggling of drugs, cattle, Indian goods, and other contraband items.
Feni Battalion has also increased coordination with local residents, public representatives, and community leaders to improve information sharing. Border residents have been urged to immediately report any suspicious movement or illegal activity to the nearest BGB camp.
Feni Battalion Commander Lt. Col. MM Zillur Rahman said all necessary measures are in place to protect border security and prevent illegal infiltration and smuggling. He added that operations and surveillance will continue to ensure the safety and sovereignty of the country.
