


A 'Meet the DC programme was held in Madhukhali Upazila, Faridpur, honouring 71 students who achieved GPA-5 in this year's SSC and equivalent exams. Each student received a memento, a copy of Kazi Nazrul Islam's poetry book "Sanchita" and a tree sapling.
The event was held Tuesday afternoon at Madhukhali Upazila Parishad Hallroom, presided over by Upazila Executive Officer Md. Masudur Rahman and moderated by Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Abdul Awal Akon. Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Mazharul Islam attended as chief guest.
Special guests included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Pratik Dutta, Narcotics Control Deputy Director Shirin Akhter and Madhukhali OC Sukdev Roy, along with headteachers from 53 schools and madrasas, students and guardians.
Addressing the students, DC Mazharul Islam called GPA-5 a strong first step but urged focus on the crucial HSC years ahead also warning that weak performance now could complicate their future path. He stressed that success requires more than good grades students must also build character, discipline, morality and a sense of responsibility toward society.
Encouraging them to dream big, he said every student needs a clear goal and must use their time wisely to achieve it, adding that today's students will lead the country through talent and hard work.
Students later interacted directly with the DC asking questions about their futures, before receiving their mementos, books and saplings.
