Prime Minister Calls for a Peaceful Bangladesh by Following the Prophet’s Teachings

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on people to uphold justice and humanitarian values in their personal, family, social and national lives by following the ideals of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), particularly his teachings on peace, justice, compassion, forgiveness and humanity.

In a message issued on Tuesday (August 25) on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), the Prime Minister said that a peaceful, just and welfare-oriented society can be built by following the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He described the Prophet’s arrival as a unique and glorious event in human history, saying that it opened a new horizon of truth and light for humanity. Alongside calling people toward monotheism, the Prophet taught truth, justice, equality, brotherhood, humanity and peace. His life and deeds, the Prime Minister said, remain an eternal guide and exemplary model for all humanity.

Extending greetings to Muslims in Bangladesh and around the world on the occasion, Tarique Rahman expressed gratitude to Allah for sending Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the final Prophet and Messenger and Rahmatul-lil-Alamin (mercy to the worlds).

Quoting the Quranic verse, “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example” (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:21), the Prime Minister said the Prophet’s life was a practical and living embodiment of the teachings of the Holy Quran.

He highlighted the Prophet’s examples of honesty, trustworthiness, justice, forgiveness, patience, compassion and selflessness. His life, he said, teaches both devotion to Allah and profound love, responsibility and generosity toward fellow human beings.

The Prime Minister said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized human dignity and rights beyond divisions of race, ethnicity, tribe, language and social status. He taught people to care for orphans, the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged and placed particular emphasis on protecting the rights of families, neighbours, women, children and marginalized members of society.

According to the Prime Minister, the Prophet’s teachings strengthen bonds of brotherhood, harmony and mutual responsibility rather than division among people.

Referring to the crises facing the world today, Tarique Rahman said wars, conflicts, violence, inequality, intolerance and moral degradation are disrupting people’s peace, security and normal lives.

“In such a time, the Prophet’s teachings of peace, justice, compassion, forgiveness and humanity are highly relevant,” he said, adding that these values can help establish a peaceful and welfare-oriented society at every level of life.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the role of young people, saying they are the future of the country. He called for young people to be kept away from drugs, terrorism, extremism and crime and encouraged to develop through knowledge, creativity, morality, humanity and patriotism.

He said the Prophet’s life and teachings can inspire young people to remain committed to truth and justice, respect others and play responsible roles in society and the country.

Tarique Rahman further said the Prophet’s teachings are significant not only for Muslims’ religious and spiritual lives but also for the development of human and ethical values.

“We must incorporate his ideals into our personal lives, family lives and social conduct,” he said. “By strengthening mutual respect, compassion, tolerance and a sense of justice, we can build a peaceful, just and humane Bangladesh.”

The Prime Minister prayed that Allah would grant Muslims the ability to follow the noble life and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and that his teachings would further strengthen the values of truth, justice, equality, brotherhood and humanity in individual and social life.

He also prayed for the establishment of peace, justice, equality, prosperity and humanity in Bangladesh and throughout the world, and extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Bangladesh and the entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
