Minor Girl Raped in Narail; Accused Beaten by Locals

A 10-year-old girl was reportedly raped in Uttar Mahajan village under Naragati Police Station on Wednesday afternoon. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Narail Sadar Hospital in critical condition.

According to Naragati Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdur Rahim, the incident occurred while the girl's parents were away from home. The accused, identified as Asad (48), a neighbor and father of four, allegedly entered the house and assaulted the child.

Hearing the victim's cries, local residents rushed to the scene and caught the suspect. Outraged by the attack, the mob beat the accused before handing him over to the police.

OC Abdur Rahim confirmed that the police took the suspect into custody and admitted him to the Kalia Upazila Health Complex for treatment of his injuries. A formal case has been filed regarding the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
