


A 16-year-old SSC candidate reportedly committed suicide in Bhola on Monday after Exam is not Up to the Mark. The deceased, Tayyaba Jahan Chaiti, was a science student at Machuma Khanam Girls' Secondary School.
Chaiti was the only child of Md. Sahabuddin, a constable at the Bhola Court Police. The family, originally from Gournadi in Barishal, lived in a rented house in the Officer Para area of Bhola Sadar.
According to family and neighbors, Chaiti suffered a mental breakdown after learning she had not Up to the Mark her English subject exam. On Monday morning, she locked herself in her room. Concerned by the silence, her mother eventually broke down the door and discovered Chaiti hanging from a ceiling fan.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after neighbors responded to her mother’s cries for help and recovered the body.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhola Sadar Model Police Station, Md. Monirul Islam, confirmed the tragedy. "Chaiti was known as a brilliant student, and she was the only child of her parents. This is a deeply saddening incident for the community," he said.
