


Lalmohan, Bhola the birthplace of Speaker Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed erupted in celebration on Friday night following his reported elevation to Acting President of Bangladesh.
Local BNP leaders, activists, relatives and well-wishers took to the streets to mark his appointment to the state's highest office with sharing sweets and raising joyous slogans.
The celebrations centered around a large procession that began at the Lalmohan Upazila BNP office. Accompanied by various affiliate organizations, the crowd paraded through the upazila town before concluding with a brief rally at a central intersection.
Addressing the gathering of Lalmohan Upazila BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Babul announced that special prayers will be held at local mosques on Saturday. The congregations will pray for the long life and success of Acting President and National Assembly Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
Simultaneous celebrations and sweet distributions were reported across multiple locations in the upazila throughout the evening.
Key local figures leading the procession included Lalmohan Upazila BNP President Zafar Iqbal, General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Babul and Municipality BNP President Sadek Mia Jantu and other senior party officials.
