


The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-10) arrested five armed individuals and recovered five firearms during a raid in Rajbari Sadar on Monday morning.
Acting on a tip-off about drug trafficking, a team from RAB’s Faridpur Camp conducted the special operation between 10:15 am and 11:30 am in the Ramkantapur union. The raid targeted the residences of two of the suspects in Kaidanga village with leading to the immediate arrest of the group.
During the search RAB seized a British cutaway rifle, a single-barrel gun and three locally manufactured one-shooter guns.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Alam Sardar (40), Md. Ibrahim Sheikh (44), Md. Bahadur Biswas (58), Md. Faisal Chowdhury Prakash Farid (37) and Raju Ahmed Tokon (45).
According to RAB officials, several of the suspects are habitual offenders with extensive criminal records across various police stations. Ibrahim Sheikh faces a previous weapons charge, while Faisal Chowdhury has two pending cases for extortion and illegal firearms. Raju Ahmed Tokon is implicated in three separate cases involving kidnapping and robbery.
Major Farhan Mahmud Moktada, Company Commander of RAB-10 (Faridpur Camp) stated that intelligence operations will aggressively continue to track the sources and users of illegal firearms in the region. He confirmed that official legal proceedings against the five suspects are currently underway.
