The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) has confirmed that the investigation into the 2013 murder of 17-year-old student Tanvir Muhammad Taqi has been completed and that the charge sheet will be submitted to the court soon.
In a press briefing held today (November 1), RAB-11 chief Lieutenant Colonel H M Sajjad Hossain stated that due to the sensitivity of the case, further detailed investigation was conducted. He confirmed that several suspects were arrested and interrogated, yielding crucial information.
Taqi's father, Rafiqul Rabbi, who has fought relentlessly for justice, expressed his hope that charges would be pressed before the next scheduled court hearing on 29 November.
Taqi was an A-Level student who went missing on 6 March 2013, after leaving his Narayanganj home. His body was found two days later, on 8 March, floating in the Shitalakkhya River. Rabbi filed a murder case with the Narayanganj Kotwali Police Station the same day the body was recovered.
The submission of the charge sheet would mark a significant step toward the commencement of the trial in this decade-long case.
