Drug dealer arrested with 20 kg of Marijuana in Chittagong

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 has arrested a drug dealer with 20 kg of Marijuana from Halishahar area of Chittagong city.

The arrested Md. Salman (50) is the son of the deceased Kabir Ahmed of North Halishahar area under Halishahar police station.

RAB-7 Assistant Superintendent of Police and Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain said that the raid was conducted on Saturday (November 1) at around 4:30 pm based on a secret tip-off that some drug dealers were staying at the house of Malek Sawdagar of Haji Bari in North Halishahar Golichipa Para under Halishahar police station in the city with the intention of buying and selling ganja.

When Md. Salman tried to escape after sensing the presence of RAB, he was chased and arrested. 20 kg of Marijuana, specially hidden in a plastic bag kept in the kitchen of his house, was recovered. The estimated market value of the recovered drugs is around Tk 3 lakh. He has been handed over to Halishahar Police Station along with the recovered marijuana.
