The Central Parliament of Chhatra Dal officially announced the new committee leadership, including G.M. Al-Mamun Abhi.

G.M. Al-Mamun Abhi, a student leader from Satkhira’s Tala Upazila, has been appointed Vice President of the Dhaka Metropolitan West unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD).

The appointment was confirmed in a press release signed by Chhatra Dal Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

Abhi, the son of Ayub Ali Gazi and Fatema Begum from Khalilnagar village, has been a fixture in student politics since 2008. He previously served as the Vice President of Tala Government College Chhatra Dal in 2014 and held a similar position in the Dhaka Metropolitan West unit in 2016.

An alumnus of Government Titumir College, where he completed his Masters in 2021, Abhi is widely recognized by peers for his "clean image" and consistent presence in political movements.

The news of his appointment sparked celebrations among grassroots activists in both Dhaka and his hometown of Tala. Supporters believe his experience will help reorganize and strengthen the student wing.

In his first statement after the announcement, Abhi pledged to remain dedicated to the organization’s ideals. "I am committed to playing a strong role on the streets to implement the objectives of our organization," he said.

This appointment is part of a broader restructuring of the Chhatra Dal committee, aimed at bringing dedicated and experienced leadership to the forefront of student politics.
