Chattogram Metropolitan Chhatra Dal has suspended the organizational posts of four leaders, including the convenor of Mohsin College Chhatra Dal and the member secretary of Chattogram College Chhatra Dal, for attending a party organizational meeting without authorization.
The decision was approved on Sunday night (August 9) by Saiful Alam, Convenor of Chattogram Metropolitan Chhatra Dal, and Shariful Islam Tuhin, Member Secretary.
The four suspended leaders are:
Gias Uddin Sarzil: Convenor, Mohsin College Chhatra Dal
Omar Farooq: Member Secretary, Chattogram College Chhatra Dal
Hamid Hossain: Joint Convenor, Chawkbazar Thana Chhatra Dal
Shahadat Hossain Nabil: Joint Convenor, Kotwali Thana Chhatra Dal
According to a press release signed by Al Mamun Saddam, a member of the Chattogram Metropolitan Chhatra Dal Convenor Committee, the suspensions were enforced on charges of breaching organizational discipline as per the decision of the metropolitan unit.
Addressing the issue, office-in-charge member Al Mamun Saddam explained that only a designated number of members including the convenor and joint convenors of the metropolitan committee were authorized to attend the organizational meeting held on Sunday.
"Cards were allocated for specific individuals. However, several leaders from Chattogram College and Mohsin College obtained invitation cards through various means and attended the event. This was considered a violation of organizational discipline, prompting the convenor and member secretary to suspend their posts," Saddam stated.
Responding to the action, Omar Farooq, Member Secretary of Chattogram College Chhatra Dal, said, "I am a July fighter. As a July fighter, I was given an invitation card for the event. Furthermore, as the member secretary of Chattogram College Chhatra Dal, I have the right to receive a card. My post was suspended simply for attending the meeting, even before our Chairman arrived at the airport." Context
