


Activists of the Gazipur Metropolitan Chhatra Dal brought out a protest march and rally in Tongi on Friday against political violence, arson and vandalism attributed to the Awami League.
Led by prominent student leader and former Tongi Thana Chhatra Dal convener Md. Redowanur Rahman Pratyay Bepari, the rally commenced at the Cherag Ali Kaderia Textile Mills area. Demonstrators marched along the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway before gathering at Tongi Government College for a short rally.
Addressing the gathering, Pratyay emphasized that no political program threatening public safety, personal property or business operations would be tolerated.
"We urge all political activists to conduct peaceful and responsible programs that protect citizen rights, preserve law and order and uphold democracy" Pratyay said. "Political goals should be expressed peacefully without disrupting the daily lives of ordinary citizens."
Demonstrators chanted slogans condemning recent political violence while advocating for public order. During his speech, Pratyay also criticized NCP leader Nasir Uddin Patwary alongside leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Leaders and grassroots activists from various units across Gazipur Metropolitan Chhatra Dal joined the demonstration also reiterating their commitment to maintaining peaceful political activities.
