The day's formalities began with a rally around the Upazila Parishad premises at 10 am on Wednesday (October 22). After that, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad conference room.

The meeting, chaired by Shantiganj Upazila Executive Officer Sukanta Saha, was addressed by Joykals Highway Police Station OC Sumon Kumar, Shantiganj Upazila Health Complex Resident Officer Dr. Tarek Jamil Apu, Shantiganj Police Station Sub-Inspector Nobel, media workers Nohan Arefin Newaz and Abu Said, BNP leaders Mohir Uddin, Farid Uddin and others.

Easybike drivers and CNG-powered autorickshaw drivers from various stands of the upazila and responsible persons of the transport workers' organization were present at the meeting.

UNO Sukanta Saha imposed strict restrictions on the movement of battery-powered easybikes and autorickshaws on the highway to prevent road accidents. In addition, he banned passengers from getting on and off on the right side of CNG-powered autorickshaws and gave drivers 10 days to block the right-side boarding and disembarking path with iron chains.

The UNO also warned that legal action would be taken by conducting a mobile court if these instructions were not followed within the stipulated time.

At this time, the drivers present were instructed to obey traffic laws, have driver and vehicle licenses, not drive at reckless speeds and charge fair fares.
