Worker missing after falling into Karnaphuli River

A worker named Md. Riyadul Haque (22) has gone missing after falling from a ship in the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram. The accident occurred at around 4 pm on Sunday (December 4) in the Re-Resource Ghat area adjacent to Ichanagar in Karnaphuli Upazila.

The missing worker Md. Riyadul Haque is the son of Md. Helal, a resident of Ichanagar village in Charpatharghata Union of Karnaphuli Upazila. He was working as a worker in the Re-Resource Group.

Immediately after the incident, the Fire Service diving team and the Naval Police launched an operation to rescue him. However, despite a long search, he could not be rescued until Monday (December 5) noon.

Sadarghat Naval Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mizanur Rahman said that the operation to rescue the missing worker is continuing. Searches are being conducted at various points of the river.
