A teenager named Fahim (15) died after being crushed by a pickup truck carrying soil in Lakshmipur. He was a soil cutter.

The accident occurred at around 8 am on Monday (January 5) at Kazirdagi in Uttar Nurullahpur village of Charshahi union in Sadar upazila.

The deceased Fahim is the son of Kamal Hossain of Dula Haji bari of Nurullahpur village of Charshahi union.

Eyewitnesses and police said that Fahim was working on cutting soil at the spot. At that time, the pickup truck ran over him from behind. He died on the spot. The pickup driver fled after being chased by the people present. It was not possible to arrest him.

Daserhat police outpost in-charge Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the truth of the incident and said, "We have reached the spot after receiving the information. Legal action will be taken in this regard."
