Bangladesh Open University (BOU) has issued a strict warning regarding a fake notification circulating on social media, particularly Facebook, claiming that students of the BA and BSS programs under the 2024 examination session have been or will be "auto-passed".
The university has categorically dismissed the claim as false, misleading, and entirely baseless. In an official notice released on Wednesday, Professor Md. Anisur Rahman, Registrar (Additional Charge) of BOU, clarified that no such decision or announcement has been made by the university authorities. He urged everyone to refrain from spreading or believing such disinformation.
The warning also stated that legal action will be taken against individuals or groups involved in spreading such rumors.
According to the notice, all official announcements and updates related to BOU examinations are only published on the university's official website: www.bou.ac.bd. Therefore, students of the BA and BSS programs, as well as tutors and coordinators, are strongly advised not to rely on information from unofficial or unauthenticated sources.
BOU emphasized the importance of verifying all academic information through its official channels to avoid confusion and misinformation.
