International Anti-Corruption Day celebrated in Lohagara

The International Anti-Corruption Day was celebrated in Lohagara, Narail with the theme 'Youth unity against corruption, building the purity of the future'.

On this occasion, the day was inaugurated by hoisting the national flag and the Anti-Corruption Commission flag at the Upazila Parishad premises at 10:30 am on Tuesday (December 9). Later, after hoisting the flag, a human chain program was organized by the Upazila Administration and Corruption Prevention Committee in front of the main gate of the Upazila Parishad. Members of the Corruption Prevention Committee, school students, public representatives, politicians, journalists and civil society leaders participated in the human chain. After the human chain, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Upazila Parishad titled "What to do to prevent and combat corruption."

Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee President Dr. Chaired by Syed Imdadul Haque and moderated by journalist Maruf Samdani, General Secretary of the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, Lohagara Upazila Executive Officer Shammi Kaiser spoke as the chief guest. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Municipal Administrator Sadia Sultana spoke as the special guest. Among others, retired teacher Md. Nazrul Islam, Laxmipasha Qawmi Madrasa Principal Mufti Mirajul Haque, Joypur Alia Madrasa Principal Md. Badrul Islam, Cooperative Officer Abdur Rahman, journalist Kazi Imran and others spoke.

At this time, the speakers called on everyone to take effective steps to prevent corruption and strive to build a corruption-free Bangladesh.

At the end of the discussion meeting, Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee member Sharmin Islam recited the anti-corruption oath. Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of the quiz competition held with the participation of the students present.
