


A massive public prayer (mahfil) was organized by the Gazipur Metropolitan BNP at Bhawal Rajbari ground on Wednesday afternoon, seeking the speedy recovery and long life of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The event demonstrated broad support, drawing not only leaders and activists from the BNP and its affiliated organizations but also representatives from other political and social groups, including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and NCP.
Mufti Kamrul Islam Nomani, Khatib of Gazipur Central Jame Mosque, led the emotional prayer session.
Speakers at the gathering emphasized Begum Zia's status as a "patriotic leader and a symbol of national unity," noting that people across all parties, as well as international human rights activists and heads of state, are praying for her health.
The event, attended by a large crowd of local dignitaries and citizens, concluded with thousands chanting 'Allahumma Amin' in an atmosphere described as emotional, with many participants seen shedding tears.
