


Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan stated that every upazila should be developed as a hub for sports and cultural practices. He emphasized that engaging young people in sports is crucial to diverting them from "dangerous paths," including drug abuse.
The advisor made these remarks at the virtual inauguration ceremony of 11 sports facilities across district and upazila levels, held today (Thursday, December 4) afternoon at the Secretariat, under the National Sports Council.
The advisor highlighted several governmental initiatives and plans as Instructions have been issued to reduce the salary gap between men and women in the sports sector. The salaries of women cricketers have already been increased, with women footballers' salaries planned for future increases.
The interim government has been actively playing a role in the development of sports infrastructure since assuming office. The government has plans to establish an international standard sports institute.
During the virtual ceremony, the advisor Laid the foundation stone for a stadium in Charbhadrasan Upazila of Faridpur, valued at approximately 20 crore taka. Prepared and inaugurated the foundations of a total of 11 projects across ten districts of the country.
The event in Faridpur was attended by local officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Ramananda Pal and Executive Magistrates Atiqur Rahman, Tanmoy Islam, Faisal Ahmed, and Sohel Rana.
