


Kazi Mohammad Jamirul Islam Momtaz, a senior journalist and the incumbent President of the traditional Shantiganj Press Club in Sunamganj district, has been elected President of the Managing Committee of Damodhartopi Mahmudpur Dakhil Madrasa for the second consecutive term.
The election took place on Thursday (December 4) afternoon in the office of the Upazila Secondary Education Officer. The election was presided over by Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor, Nur Alam Siddiqui. Kazi Momtaz was elected by unanimous consent for a tenure of the next 2 years. He had previously served as the president of the ad hoc committee, elected on September 10 of this year. Shahidul Islam, the Superintendent of the Madrasa, expressed enthusiasm for working under the newly elected president.
He stated that the goal is to continue the madrasa's development and improve the quality of education, aspiring to achieve a "good position in the upazila" under Momtaz's guidance.
The newly elected president, Kazi Mohammad Jamirul Islam Momtaz, thanked the committee members for the unanimous election. He pledged to dedicate his "talent and labor" to improving the quality of reading and writing and the overall development of the institution. He emphasized that participation from local people and all walks of life will be crucial to enhancing education quality.
Presiding Officer Nur Alam Siddiqui confirmed that all election preparations were made, and Kazi Momtaz was elected president by the consent of everyone present.
Kazi Mohammad Jamirul Islam Momtaz is noted for his deep association with the institution, having been a founding teacher of the madrasa. He holds several other prominent positions, Nikah Registrar of Joykals Union, President of Shantiganj Press Club, Joint General Secretary of Sunamganj District Qazi Association, Joint Organizing Secretary of Sylhet Divisional Marriage Registrar Association also Secretary of the Shantiginj Abdul Majid Jame Mosque Management Committee.
