Masudur Rahman Masud, a UK-based expatriate leader and NCP candidate for Sunamganj-3 (Shantiganj-Jagannathpur) and Sylhet-1 (City and Sadar) constituencies, held a mass rally and roadshow in Shantiganj Upazila of Sunamganj.
On Saturday (November 29), at 4 pm, he held a mass rally in Pagla Bazar, Shantiganj Bazar, Chhayhara Point, and Dabor Point areas of Shantiganj Upazila. After that, he held a short roadshow next to Pubali Bank in Pagla Bazar.
At that time, he said, 'The NCP was formed under the leadership of those who led the July mass uprising. Therefore, in the next election, the people will vote for that party's symbol, the 'Shapla Kali'. Because even after 54 years of the 1971 Liberation War, we have failed to build the Bangladesh we dreamed of with social values, humanity and equality. For the past seventeen years, we have seen a one-party, authoritarian regime. We do not want to miss that opportunity after the mass uprising of 24. We want the youth to organize more and the youth to lead the country, and just as the July mass uprising was successful under the leadership of the youth, the NCP will lead in building a Bangladesh free from corruption, free from extortion, with social values and equality.'
He also said, 'I have worked as one of those who led the quota movement of 2018 and the mass uprising of 24 as an expatriate. I have created public opinion all over the world in the quota movement.
I have supported VP Noor and Rashed from abroad. Besides, I have cooperated in diplomacy from behind the scenes during the July Uprising and have done networking. Therefore, I believe that I will get NCP nomination in Sunamganj-3 and Sylhet-1 constituencies in the next elections and with your prayers and support, I will be able to go to parliament and work for the development of my constituency.'
NCP leaders and activists from Jagannathpur and Shantiganj were present at the time.
