BNP Vice Chairman and BNP-nominated MP candidate for Feni-3 constituency Abdul Awal Mintu has announced the suspension of all election and other campaign activities for the party's chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, wishing her speedy recovery. At the same time, he has urged the countrymen to pray especially for former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

He told leaders and activists at Lalpole in Feni town on Saturday (November 29) before going to a prayer meeting organized for Khaleda Zia at the big mosque in Sonagazi upazila.

It is learned that Begum Khaleda Zia is currently undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital due to a serious illness. There is concern among party leaders and activists and well-wishers as her physical condition deteriorates. In such a situation, Abdul Awal Mintu decided to postpone his public relations and election meetings.

He was scheduled to campaign in Sonagazi Upazila on Saturday and Sunday. Later, he was shocked to hear the news of the leader's illness. For this, he announced the suspension of all previously scheduled programs in Sonagazi Upazila.

At that time, Abdul Awal Mintu said, our national leader Begum Khaleda Zia is at the crossroads of life and death today. At this moment, her health is more important to us than politics or election activities. I am announcing the suspension of all my personal and party campaigns.

He said, my humble request to the countrymen, all of you pray for our leader. May Allah Almighty heal her quickly and bring her back to us.
