A farewell reception was held for Ashok Chandra Talukder, acting head teacher of Purba Gahira Government Primary School in Raypur Union of Anwara upazila, marking the end of his 41-year teaching career. The event, organized by the school’s alumni association and management committee, took place on Friday (October 10) at the school auditorium. Politician and education enthusiast Alhaj Md. Mosharraf Hossain attended as chief guest, while businessman Alhaj Md. Abdul Amin inaugurated the program. Acting Upazila Primary Education Officer Sanullah Kawsar was present as a special guest. Former teacher Mohammad Hashem was also honored, and late teacher Abdul Kader was remembered posthumously. New teacher Shubha Chakraborty was welcomed at the event. Alumni including Md. Shahabuddin, Abdullah Al Monir, Md. Nasim, Md. Didar, Md. Forkan, and Syed Akbar Rubel played key roles in organizing the ceremony. Speaking at the event, the chief guest said, “A dedicated teacher not only shapes generations but also enlightens society. The contributions of Ashok Chandra Talukder will remain unforgettable in the school’s history.” Guests and former students expressed gratitude and wished the retiring teacher a peaceful and healthy life.
