


RAB-7 has recovered 3,898 yaba pills from a private jeep in Chittagong's Anwara upazila arresting two people and seizing the vehicle used for transportation.
The raid took place early Monday (July 20) in front of the Sarkarhat cattle market near the Tailordwip Bridge.
The arrestees are Md. Roni Islam alias Sabu Hasan 30 from Joypurhat's Panchbibi upazila, and Rahmat Ali 43 from Anwara's Tailordwip area.
Acting on a tip-off a RAB-7 team intercepted a black 1995 Toyota jeep (Dhaka Metro-Gha-11-2192) and found the drugs. The suspects the seized yaba and the vehicle were later handed over to the Anwara Police Station.
Anwara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Junayet Chowdhury confirmed the handover. A case has been filed against the duo under the Narcotics Control Act and they have been sent to court.
