RAB-7 has seized 23,660 Yaba pills from a secret chamber inside a covered van in Chittagong city, arresting the driver in the process.
Acting on a tip-off that a drug consignment was traveling from Cox's Bazar to Chittagong, a RAB team set up a temporary checkpost in the Fakirnirhat area under Karnaphuli Police Station at around 1:30 am on Friday (May 22).
Upon intercepting the suspicious covered van on the Banshkhali-Anowara-Chittagong road, officers conducted a thorough search. They discovered the Yaba pills, wrapped in black tape, hidden inside a custom-built iron chamber beneath the rear of the vehicle. The van was immediately seized.
The arrested driver was identified as Nazmul Haque, 37, from Begumganj Upazila in Noakhali.
RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain confirmed that the suspect and the seized drugs have been handed over to Karnaphuli Police Station for further legal action.
