BMDA Chair Praises PM Tarique Rahman’s Initiatives at Pabna Tree Drive

Barendra Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) Chairman Hasan Jafir Tuhin praised Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s administration on Sunday highlighting significant public welfare and development achievements made during its first five months in office.

Speaking to journalists at a tree plantation drive in Pabna’s Chatmohar and Faridpur upazilas Tuhin officially launched the regional phase of a nationwide initiative to plant 250 million trees over the next five years.

"The government has initiated extensive development projects nationwide in a very short time," Tuhin stated noting that specific phased development plans are slated for the Pabna-3 constituency.

While planting fruit timber and medicinal saplings in the Chalanbil area the BMDA Chairman emphasized the critical need for widespread participation in the Prime Minister's environmental campaign. "Planting trees is essential to maintain ecological balance, combat climate change and secure a safe environment for future generations" he said.

Tuhin urged citizens across all political affiliations to join the effort. He stressed that planting saplings is only the first step and that consistent maintenance is vital. "Many trees planted by the previous administration perished due to neglect. We must learn from that and ensure a 100% success rate this time" he added.
