Md Fazlul Hoque a veteran leader in Bangladesh's readymade knitwear sector officially assumed the role of administrator for the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Sunday.
The Ministry of Commerce confirmed the appointment, which follows an official order issued last week. Hoque who previously served as the president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) has been brought in to ensure the smooth, continuous operation of the country’s apex trade body.
According to the ministry's directive, his core responsibility is to safeguard the interests of local trade, commerce and industry during this leadership transition. Most importantly, Hoque is mandated to organize and conduct a fair transparent and neutral FBCCI election within the next 120 days. Following a successful election he will hand over all responsibilities to the newly elected board.
