Dhaka South BNP's senior joint convener, former commissioner, and candidate for the Lakshmipur-1 (Ramganj) constituency, Harunur Rashid Harun stated, "The Lakshmipur-1 constituency is the stronghold of the Ramganj Nationalist Party BNP. Nominations will be awarded exclusively to defected BNP leaders here, rather than to any candidates from the alliance."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion meeting hosted by Ramganj BNP at the Ramganj Pilot Girls High School ground on Saturday afternoon, November 15.
In reference to BLDP Chairman Shahadat Hossain Selim, he remarked, "A leader from BLDP is deceiving the residents of Ramganj by presenting himself as the candidate for the paddy sheaf. Should a candidate from another party be nominated in Ramganj, the local populace will not accept it."
He further emphasized that BNP has a rich political legacy in Ramganj and that the party will reach a final decision after assessing the committed and proven leaders in the area.
It is important to highlight that while the names of BNP's nominated candidates have been revealed in 237 constituencies nationwide, no candidate has yet been announced for the Lakshmipur-1 (Ramganj) constituency.
The meeting was chaired by former municipal BNP president Zakir Hossain Molla. The event was moderated by former municipal BNP organizing secretary Mizanur Rahman Miron and Professor Harunur Rashid.
Keynote speakers included former General Secretary of Ramganj Upazila BNP VP Abdur Rahim, Mashfiqul Haque Joy, son of former State Minister Ziaul Haque Zia, BNP leader and Chairman of Smart Group Md. Zahirul Islam, former President of Municipal BNP Master Rafiq Ullah, former Organizing Secretary of Upazila BNP VP Ismail Hossain Bengal, former Member Secretary of Municipal BNP Alamgir Hossain Mia, Md. Abul Hashem B.A., Abul Khair Lelin, Monir Hossain Liton, and several others.
