BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee made several strong accusations against the ruling Awami League (AL) and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while speaking as the chief guest at a freshmen reception at Janata Degree College in Lakshmipur on Thursday (November 13).

Anee claimed that the Awami League's "lockdown" has no public support ("no people"). He alleged that the AL is creating fake images using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enforce the notion of a successful lockdown.

He further alleged that the AL is secretly organizing early-morning processions with "intoxicated and disorderly boys" in exchange for money, staging incidents like bus torching, and then posting the pictures on Facebook. Anee questioned why Sheikh Hasina, whom he referred to as the "Prime Minister of the darkness of the night, the Prime Minister of occupation," should run away, yet he later asserted that "she did flee" after sending her relatives abroad. He contrasted this with the current generation of activists who "did not flee."

He accused the current administration of preventing the opposition from doing politics, attacking leaders and activists, filing cases, and being responsible for disappearances and murders. He also cited historical allegations of corruption, misrule, and mismanagement by the AL, mentioning the controversial Mujib Bahini and Rakshi Bahini from the post-independence era.

The event took place at the college ground in Charshahi Union of Sadar Upazila, and several other college and district BNP/Chhatra Dal officials were present as special guests.
