A significant rally took place, advocating for the revocation of the nomination of Hasan Jafir Tuhin, the BNP candidate for the Pabna-3 constituency, who is also the President of the Central Krishak Dal. This rally was organized by a faction of the Chatmohar Upazila BNP at Baluchar ground in the municipal town at 4:30 pm on Monday (November 10), coinciding with National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

Leaders and activists from Chatmohar Upazila, as well as those from Bhangura and Faridpur Upazila BNP and their affiliated organizations, participated in the event. During the rally, former MP and ex-president of Chatmohar Upazila BNP, KM Anwarul Islam, who has been denied nomination due to longstanding disputes, along with former upazila chairman and ex-member secretary Hasadul Islam Hira, voiced their demands for the cancellation of Hasan Jafir Tuhin's nomination from the stage. Following the rally, a large procession featuring thousands of leaders and activists paraded through the city. In his address at the rally,

Hasadul Islam Hira stated, 'The central leaders have made errors. However, I trust that Tarique Rahman Saheb will not err. My esteemed leader has been misled. From the party leaders and activists of Pabna-3 to the general populace, there is a desire for a local candidate. If BNP aims to secure Pabna-3, a candidate from this area must be nominated; otherwise, BNP will forfeit this seat. We will not accept any outsider.' At that moment, KM Anwarul Islam remarked in his speech, 'The residents of Pabna-3 do not wish for an outsider. The nomination is not yet finalized. We want to convey to the central leadership that we do not desire an outsider candidate. The people want me as an independent candidate. I am confident that if I run independently, I will succeed. Nevertheless, I have faith in the party. Ultimately, I will await the party's final decision. I believe the party will reconsider its decision in the end. Among those who addressed the rally were former president of Bhangura Upazila BNP, Advocate Mojibur Rahman, senior joint convener Abdul Matin Raju, former general secretary of Chatmohar Upazila BNP, Advocate Azizul Haque, former chairman of Haripur Union Parishad, Nazir Sarkar, member secretary of Faridpur Municipality Jubo Dal, Kakon, BNP leader Abdul Muttalib, Said ul Islam Kafi, joint convener of Chatmohar Upazila Chhatra Dal, Rakibul Islam Hridoy, former general secretary of Bhangura Upazila Chhatra Dal, Abu Sayem, and senior joint convener of Chatmohar Government College branch Chhatra Dal, Ruhul Kabir, among others.

It is noted that within the Pabna-3 constituency, which includes the three upazilas of Chatmohar, Bhangura, and Faridpur, Chatmohar Upazila has the highest number of voters. Despite this significant voter base, the residents of this upazila have not had an MP representing them in recent times. Consequently, the local populace has faced a lack of development. However, following a change of sentiment on August 5, the people of Chatmohar began to hope for a BNP candidate in the upcoming election.

Nevertheless, the BNP's primary nomination for the Pabna-3 constituency was awarded to Hasan Jafir Tuhin, the president of the Krishak Dal central committee and the son of an agriculturist from Sujanagar, who had been anticipating the nomination for Pabna-2 constituency. This decision has since sparked repressed frustration among BNP leaders, activists, and the general public in Chatmohar. Furthermore, it has caused a rift among BNP leaders and activists, particularly among the supporters of two prominent nomination contenders, former MP KM Anwarul Islam and former Upazila Chairman Hasadul Islam Hira, who expressed their discontent.

While many have accepted the party's decision and are collaborating with Hasan Jafir Tuhin, the BNP's primary nominee, numerous individuals are struggling to come to terms with it, as confirmed by various sources. This discontent has also spread among the general populace of Chatmohar upazila.
