Bangladesh secured a commanding 217-run victory over Ireland in the second and final Test, thereby achieving a clean sweep (whitewash) in the series. The victory marks a historic moment for the Tigers, who registered their 100th Test match win.

Ireland began the final day needing 333 more runs to win, starting at 176 for 6. The Irish lower-order batsmen showed remarkable resilience, forcing Bangladesh to bowl about 60 overs to claim the last four wickets. The visitors were finally bowled out for 291 runs in 113.3 overs their highest-ever fourth-innings score. Curtis Campher led the stubborn resistance, remaining unbeaten on 71. Bangladesh's spin attack proved crucial. Left-arm spinners Hasan Murad and Taijul Islam were the stars, each claiming four wickets in the innings.

Bangladesh built their insurmountable lead on the fourth day. Starting at 156/1, openers Sadman Islam (78) and Mominul Haque (87) continued their partnership. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto declared the innings closed at the fall of Mominul Haque’s wicket at 297/7, setting Ireland a massive target of 509 runs. Wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim also contributed with an unbeaten 53 runs off 81 balls in his 100th Test match appearance.

Ireland's chase of 509 started poorly, losing Paul Stirling (9) and Andy Balbirnie (13) early. Harry Tector scored a decent 50 runs off 80 balls, while Lorcan Tucker and Peter Doheny fell quickly. At the close of Day 4, Andy McBrine (11*) and Curtis Campher (34*) had managed to pull the match into the fifth day, frustrating the hosts.
