BNP central leader and former minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf’s daughter, Nayab Yusuf, has accused the administration of intimidation and political bias in Faridpur, saying “Awami misrule has returned in a new form.”
Speaking at a press conference at Faridpur Press Club on Tuesday, Nayab who is seeking BNP nomination for the Faridpur-1 constituency condemned the recent attack on former MP A.K. Azad’s motorcade in Krishnanagar Union.
She alleged that police raids on BNP activists’ homes are creating fear, similar to “the repressive tactics of the former Hasina regime.”
Nayab urged the Home Adviser, Home Secretary, IGP, and Dhaka Range DIG to take immediate action against A.K. Azad and those “trying to rehabilitate fascist elements in Faridpur.”
BNP leaders including A.K. Kibria Swapon, Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, Syed Zulfiqar Hossain, and others were present. The event concluded with a protest march led by Nayab Yusuf.
