Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said the government is working to introduce digital technology-based land services to reduce corruption and harassment and make services more accessible to citizens.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the Land Services Fair at the Bhumi Bhaban in Dhaka on Tuesday (May 19). The event also marked the launch of the fair simultaneously at upazila, district, division and national levels across the country.
The Prime Minister said the digital system will help ensure faster land services so that citizens do not face unnecessary delays, corruption or harassment in obtaining services.
He also highlighted the need for planned land use and said the government is taking steps to modernize and simplify land administration through effective reforms.
The three-day fair will continue until Thursday (May 21).
This year’s theme is: “People-friendly automated land management, safe land and prosperous future.”
The main goal of the fair is to simplify land services, increase awareness about digital platforms and citizen services, and ensure access for all, including marginalized communities.
