Telenor CEO Meets Prime Minister to Discuss Digital Infrastructure and 5G

Telenor Group President and CEO Benedict Schilbred Fasmer met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday morning at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The leaders discussed the advancement of Bangladesh’s telecommunications sector, the development of digital infrastructure, and Telenor’s ongoing investment plans.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman commended Telenor’s contributions to the nation’s ICT growth. He emphasized that private sector partnership is vital for extending high-speed internet to remote areas and achieving the "Smart Bangladesh" vision. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining a business-friendly environment for international investors.

Fasmer praised Bangladesh’s recent economic strides and expressed Telenor’s intent to upgrade service quality and spearhead the expansion of 5G technology across the country.

Senior officials from the PMO and a high-level Telenor delegation were also in attendance.
