The Supreme Court has imposed immediate restrictions on access to the courtrooms of both divisions, citing necessary security enhancements for the Chief Justice, judges, lawyers, and the court premises.
Entry into the Supreme Court courtrooms is now restricted for litigants and any unauthorized persons, with the exception of lawyers.
The decision, announced via a notification signed by Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee, is based on security concerns. It was observed that the entry of litigants, case-related persons, and unauthorized individuals was obstructing court security, disrupting the peaceful environment, and interfering with judicial proceedings and the security of judges and staff.
The notification also completely prohibits the carrying of any kind of weapons (legal or illegal), deadly weapons, explosives, and narcotics, as well as holding any assembly or procession within the Supreme Court premises.
The order came into effect immediately and will remain in force until December 31. Legal action will be taken against violators.
