Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic will choose national dignity and resistance over surrendering to foreign economic pressure.

Speaking during a visit to the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Pezeshkian addressed the current economic challenges facing the nation. He emphasized that the government is focused on utilizing domestic resources and public support to counter international sanctions and "excessive demands" from enemies.

Economic Reforms and Independence

The President acknowledged structural issues within the Iranian economy, such as the budget deficit. To combat this, he outlined a policy focused on:

Structural Reforms: Streamlining regulations and removing barriers for exporters.

Production Growth: Increasing domestic production capacity to reduce reliance on oil revenues.

Foreign Exchange: Strengthening the export sector to boost the country’s foreign currency reserves.

"By strengthening domestic production, we turn the enemy's hope of creating dissatisfaction through economic pressure into despair," Pezeshkian stated. He argued that a strong, resistant nation discourages foreign powers from attempting to undermine its territorial integrity.

Meeting with the Supreme Leader

President Pezeshkian also shared details regarding a recent two-and-a-half-hour meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

Describing the encounter as "warm and sincere," the President praised the Leader’s humble and respectful approach. He noted that the discussions were built on a foundation of trust and empathy, which he believes is essential for effective national management.
