The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has significantly reduced gold prices in the domestic market. The price of 22-carat gold has been cut by Tk 5,481 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new rate to Tk 225,290 per bhori, including VAT.
BAJUS announced the revised prices in a notification issued on Wednesday morning (June 24). The new rates came into effect from 10:00 am the same day.
Under the revised pricing structure, a bhori of 22-carat gold will sell for Tk 225,290, including VAT. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 215,142 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 184,757 per bhori. Traditional-method gold has been priced at Tk 150,698 per bhori.
According to BAJUS, the price adjustment follows a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market. The association said the new rates were determined after reviewing overall market conditions.
The latest revision comes just two days after BAJUS increased gold prices on June 22. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was raised by Tk 4,432 per bhori to Tk 230,772, including VAT. Prices for 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional gold were fixed at Tk 220,391, Tk 189,248 and Tk 154,606 per bhori, respectively.
So far in 2026, BAJUS has adjusted gold prices 80 times. Prices were increased 40 times, reduced 39 times, and VAT was adjusted once. In 2025, gold prices were revised 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 reductions.
