Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has warned that both students and institution heads will face strict legal action if cheating occurs during the upcoming HSC and equivalent exams.
The minister issued the directive on Wednesday (June 24) during a coordination meeting with center secretaries from the Dhaka, Mymensingh, Madrasa, and Technical Education Boards.
With the exams starting on July 2, the minister emphasized a zero-tolerance policy regarding question paper leaks, stating that anyone involved will face severe consequences.
To ensure fair and accurate grading, authorities will randomly re-verify evaluated answer sheets. Legal action will be taken against any examiner found grading incorrectly or engaging in irregularities.
Additionally, the minister announced a major shift in the academic calendar: starting in 2027, the SSC exams will be held in January. He noted that Parliament has recently amended existing examination laws to update them for modern educational needs.
