Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has called for strict measures to combat digital fraud in the education sector and announced upcoming audits to ensure fair grading.
"I buried the word 'fake' long ago and do not want to talk about it anymore," the minister said during a view-exchange meeting with Chittagong Education Board officials on Tuesday (June 23). "However, fraud is now happening digitally, and it must be prevented using digital means."
During the meeting, Dr. Milon also questioned the national trend of institutions aggressively expanding their higher education programs. He expressed concern over the rush to open honors courses, prompting a need to re-evaluate the country's academic priorities.
To maintain transparency in the examination system, the minister issued a strong warning against grade manipulation. "We will randomly audit the records of all education boards to see if anyone has been given unwarranted marks," he confirmed.
