The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board has indefinitely postponed all ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board, alongside the region's Madrasa and Technical Education boards.
According to a press release issued Thursday (July 16) night, authorities made the decision due to the severe post-flood conditions in the area. The board cited the physical and mental toll on students, as well as extensive road damage that has made traveling to exam centers unsafe.
The suspension applies to all remaining subjects for the 2026 HSC, Alim, HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational), and Diploma in Commerce examinations within the Chittagong jurisdiction. A revised schedule will be published at a later date following consultations with relevant stakeholders.
The Inter-Education Board clarified that HSC and equivalent exams across all other general, madrasa, and technical education boards in Bangladesh will proceed exactly as previously scheduled.
