The government aims to transform Bangladesh into a global "education hub," Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon announced.
He made the statement as the chief guest at the launch of Naogaon University's academic programs on Saturday (July 18).
“Previously, many international students studied at our universities, but today, our students go abroad,” the minister noted. “We want to build our universities into 'centers of excellence' to attract foreign students once again. Our goal is to make Bangladesh an international education hub.”
Praising the talent of Bangladeshi youth, he emphasized the need for modern skills development to fully harness the nation's human resource potential.
Highlighting Naogaon University's local impact, the minister suggested aligning its curriculum with regional economic needs. Because Naogaon is a major agricultural district, he noted the strong potential for introducing relevant specialized departments, such as Food Technology and food processing.
Naogaon University Vice Chancellor Professor Moha. Hasanat Ali chaired the event. Key attendees included State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, UGC Chairman Professor Mamun Ahmed, National University Vice Chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah, and secondary education heads, alongside local representatives and senior administration officials.
