


The Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested two suspected smugglers and seized a cache of stolen goods during a raid in Patenga on Tuesday (June 23) night.
The operation took place near Ghat No. 14, under the jurisdiction of Patenga Police Station. Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander BN Sumon Al Mukit confirmed the arrests.
According to Mukit, the raid recovered one ton of mineral coal, 200 kg of soybean seeds, and 150 kg of mustard seeds. Authorities also confiscated two wooden boats that were actively being used for the smuggling operation.
"The Coast Guard will continue conducting these operations to strictly prevent smuggling in the region," Mukit added.
