Held at the school hall on Wednesday (June 24), the event was chaired by Jewel Rana, President of the School Managing Committee.
Guests of honor included newly elected Shantiganj Press Club Advisor Kazi Mohammad Jamirul Islam Momtaz, President Sohel Talukder, Organizing Secretary Yaqub Shahriar, and Office Secretary Jamiul Islam Turan. Other press club executives in attendance were General Secretary Hossain Ahmed, Finance Secretary Nohan Arefin Newaz, Publicity Secretary Alal Hossain Rafi, and Executive Member Kuhinur Rahman Nahid. Local dignitaries, including school committee member Iqbal Hossain and local political leader Mia Saiful, were also present.
During the event, speakers emphasized the media's role as a mirror of society, noting that objective journalism is vital for bringing local challenges and development opportunities to public attention.
Addressing the gathering, the school's president and headmistress highlighted the pressing needs of their 150 students. "By reporting on crucial issues—such as our infrastructural needs, the educational environment, and the installation of safe drinking water tube wells—journalists can draw the attention of the relevant authorities," they noted, appealing for the media's continued cooperation.
