


A free seed and chemical fertilizer distribution program has been launched for small and marginal farmers in Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram.
The initiative was inaugurated by Upazila Executive Officer HM Khodadad Hossain under the government’s agricultural incentive program for the Kharif-2 season of the 2025–26 fiscal year. The program supports the cultivation of Aman paddy, hybrid chilli and the use of air-flow spray machines.
Organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department, the distribution took place on Wednesday morning at the Upazila Parishad premises. A total of 3,500 farmers received 5 kg of Aman seed, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer each. In addition, four air-flow spray machines and hybrid chilli seeds were distributed among selected beneficiaries.
Among those present were Upazila Agriculture Officer Shahriar Hossain, Senior Fisheries Officer Shahadat Hossain, Agricultural Extension Officer Firoz Hossain, Upazila BNP Convener Golam Rasul Raja, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdul Mannan and other local officials and community leaders.
