A fire swept through the Mudafah Paschimpara area of Tongi, Gazipur, early Wednesday (June 24), destroying 25 tin-shed houses. No casualties have been reported so far.

The blaze broke out at approximately 6:00 am. Three units from the Tongi Fire Service and Civil Defense reached the scene by 6:17 am and successfully brought the flames under control within 20 minutes, according to Senior Station Officer Shahin Alam.

Officials noted that all 25 destroyed structures belonged to a single owner and were located within the same compound.

While firefighters initially suspect an electrical short circuit sparked the blaze, a formal investigation is underway to determine the exact cause and assess the total financial damage. Tongi Paschim Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arifur Rahman confirmed that standard legal procedures regarding the incident are being followed.
