


Kazakhstan Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday (June 24) morning. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 'Summer Davos' in Dalian, China.
To strengthen bilateral ties, the two leaders agreed to establish permanent diplomatic missions in Dhaka and Astana. They also stressed the importance of regular interactions to boost political, business, and people-to-people connections. Discussions highlighted significant opportunities for mutual trade and investment. Key areas of proposed cooperation include exporting skilled Bangladeshi workers to Kazakhstan, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, technology, agribusiness, and food processing.
Additionally, Prime Minister Rahman confirmed Bangladesh’s full support for Kazakhstan’s proposal to create a specialized UN agency for water diplomacy. Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir, and Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon also attended the meeting.
