


An upazila coordination meeting was held today to prepare for the first round of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign 2026.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam chaired the meeting at his office on Wednesday morning. Attendees included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sraboni Biswas, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mohammad Shoaib, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Partha Pratim Biswas, and officials from various government departments.
On Sunday, June 28, children aged six months to five years will receive Vitamin A capsules between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. In Kalia upazila, health workers aim to administer the capsules to approximately 21,700 children across 313 centers under the Upazila Health Complex, alongside another 2,800 children at 33 centers within the Kalia Municipality.
Dr. Mohammad Shoaib emphasized that the nationwide campaign plays a vital role in addressing childhood malnutrition and boosting natural immunity against preventable diseases.
During the meeting, officials urged all stakeholders and volunteers to execute their duties efficiently to ensure no child is left out of the campaign.
