Two Missing After Launch Sinks Trawler in Buriganga River

Two people are missing after a passenger launch the MV Sundarban-12 struck and sank a trawler in the Buriganga River near Dhaka's Sadarghat.

The collision occurred around 9:30 am on Sunday July 19, near the Shyambazar Ghat. Fire Service Media Cell Inspector Md. Anwarul Islam confirmed that the launch, arriving from Barisal, collided with a newly built, Comilla-bound trawler.

The trawler was carrying 10 people at the time of the accident. Rescuers safely pulled eight passengers from the water, but two remain unaccounted for. Authorities have located the sunken vessel, and a diving unit from the Sadarghat River Fire Station is actively searching for the missing individuals.
