Meritorious Students Awarded Scholarships and Honored in Monohardi

A scholarship award and reception ceremony for meritorious students was held in Monohardi. The event was organized by Nobo Digonto Club, Gangkulkandi on Saturday (July 18) at 3:00 PM near Gangulkandi Bhuiya Bazar field in Lebutola Union.

The program was presided over by Professor Mostak Ahmed Bhuiya, Chairman of Nobo Digonto Club and Principal of Narsingdi Government College.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a patriotic song.

The Chief Guest was Alhaj Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. In his speech, he said, "Education is the main tool for the development of a nation. If meritorious students are properly evaluated and encouraged, they will lead the country and the nation in the future. Along with education the new generation must be built with morality, human values and patriotism."

Special guests included M. A. Muhaimin Al Jihan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Monohardi; Sajib Mia, Assistant Commissioner (Land); Jahangir Badsha, Officer-in-Charge of Monohardi Police Station; Hasan Mohammad Jonaed, Upazila Primary Education Officer; Dr. Rasheduzzaman, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer; Aminur Rahman Sarkar Dolon, Member Secretary of Monohardi Upazila BNP; Former VP and Senior Member of Monohardi Upazila BNP Golam Mostafa; President of Lebutola Union BNP Zakir Hossain Shahin Morol; General Secretary Didarul Islam Forhad; Member Secretary of Upazila Jubo Dal Masudur Rahman Sohag and President of Khidirpur Union BNP Abul Fazal.

Teachers, students, guardians, visitors from different areas, journalists from electronic and print media and leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations were also present.

Speakers said that such initiatives to develop students' talent and creativity are highly commendable. They urged students to be more attentive to build themselves as worthy citizens for the development of society and the country.

At the end of the ceremony, Chief Guest Health Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul handed over scholarships, crests and awards to outstanding and meritorious students from various educational institutions. The guests present congratulated the students and wished them a bright future.

The festive and joyful atmosphere of the event created great enthusiasm among students, guardians and guests. Participants expressed hope that such education-friendly initiatives will continue in the future.
